HVDC IceLink selected by KPMG as World Top 100 Infrastructure project
An HVDC powerline from Iceland to Europe was selected as World Top 100 Infrastructure project by KPMG. The project described as below is connecting the power grids of Iceland and Great Britain. As a matter of fact, there have been direct negotiation between Iceland and Scotland for serveral months already.

Iceland – Switzerland: Around the table and on playground
On September 6th a roundtable among stakeholder, university and authority representatives from Iceland and Switzerland took place in Bern. Main goals of this event were the strengthening and consolidation of their cooperation, the clarification of common targets and the exchange on the up-to-date technical, economical and political situation in both countries.

Swiss Federal Councillor confirms energy cooperation with EFTA countries
Swiss Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard took position to the «Interpellation Berberat» in her speach at the Council of States and assured that the EFTA-states Iceland and Norway would be notably listed in the energy strategy in the framework of Swiss foreign policy.

Swisspower joins the Nordur initiative as offical supporter
Swisspower is a Joint Venture of 20 city-owned utilities all over Switzerland. Swisspower holds a market share of 18% for electricity and 52% for natural gas end-user distribution.
